There are times when I get hungry suddenly and I start looking for food. If I see any stall or small outlet, I stop there and ask them to serve their speciality and that’s when you find an underrated food joint (Not every time :p)
While Amdavadis are so busy to explore high-end famous restaurants and cafes, here are some food places which are super light on the pocket as well as finger-licking good.
Make sure, you don’t miss out on these joints on your next visit.
1. Ram Bhai, IIM-A
This person sits outside the Main gate of IIM-A on the footpath with his one burner and some food ingredients. He doesn’t make any fancy recipes just basic maggie and egg preparations but trust me you won’t find that taste in any restaurants or other food joints.
2. Ajit Sandwich, Riverfront
This person is serving sandwiches from last 45 years at Riverfront. Again he doesn’t have any extraordinary recipe but the taste and everything is fresh and you’ll be full just in a single sandwich.
3. Danny’s
It’s well known for collegians as it’s light on pocket and quick fixes the hunger pranks.
They have taken over the Shambhu’s for the coffee. Try their coffee with the bournvita topping and don’t miss the cheese mayonnaise puff.
4. Krishna Paratha, Cept
Another street food place to save your budget and far better than any other fancy place.
This place serves different stuffed parathas with dahi, chutney and achar. Try their triple cheese aloo paratha you’ll go mad :p
5. Jamnagari Ghughra, Gujarat University
Ghughra is basically sweet dish, kind of deep-fried dumpling stuffed with the sweet mixture and dry fruits, is also called as gujhiya.
This one was savoury Ghughra similar to Samosa.
Do not miss this if you are a chaat lover.
Now you already know where to go 😉
