Sci-fi movie Cargo: Trailer out

Aarti Kadav’s Cargo movie trailer is finally out. The movie stars the stellar actors like Vikrant Massey and Shweta Tripathi in lead roles. Vikrant plays the role of a demon named Prahastha, whose job is to recycle dead people and prepare them for rebirth by healing their wounds or diseases and erasing memory. It is quite a clever twist given to the Indian myth of reincarnation. So after the introduction of Vikrant’s character, enters Yuvshikha Shekhar, Shweta Tripathy’s character where she plays the role of an assistant of Prahastha for helping him out in the post-death transition services. Shweta’s character is seen as having deep questions regarding life. She is not only seen as curious but her compelling questions make Prahastha have a new-outlook towards his job. Shweta also delves into the value of human life and what exactly happens after death.

Cargo looks like a great combination of humor and philosophical-deep movie.  It is a great take on the Indian reincarnation myth. Also, it seems that the movie will touch many deep thoughts and questions that have troubled mankind forever.

The trailer looked quite interesting and promising. It seems like it can be a breakthrough in the genre of Sci-fi movies in Indian cinema. Speaking about the film Aarti Kadav said that she thinks Bollywood movies had a false start for a sci-fi movie in India. There aren’t many examples of this genre except Mr. India which was done right all because of its honest attempt. Many Indian filmmakers do not experiment much. We totally agree with Aarti’s comment that India didn’t witness or delivered successful sci-fi movies as they were either copy of Hollywood movies or were full of cringe because of crappy VFX. The movie premiered at the Mami festival in 2019 under the spotlight section.

Here’s hoping that Cargo gives a kickstart to this not much-tried genre in Indian cinema. The movie cargo is all set to release on September 9 on Netflix.
