Killing Eve – Season 3 Review

by trendmainia

Killing Eve’s season 1 was fun to watch because of its one-liners, cool clothes, and yes, some fun murder scenes. Yes, it wasn’t always fun because it had some thrilling sequences too in the middle of the series, which were shocking. For instance, the murder of Eve’s hilarious mentor, Bill, was stabbed to death in the night club by a smiling Assasin Villanelle.

The opening of season 3 did have the hallmarks like a cat and mouse games, murders, obsession, but is it worth watching? Keep reading to find out.

The scenes featuring Villanelle were always memorable. Also, Eve’s dark humor, and it was great watching her coming into terms with her sexual attraction towards a female assassin. So in episode 1, we learn that Eve survived. However, it was not a surprise. But she is still in pain that Villanelle hit into the chest back in Rome. Now, Eve works at a Chinese restaurant, lives in a small flat, and regularly visits his traumatized husband who is living at the treatment facility.

In season 1, Eve’s boss Carolyn was a person full of life, always with some biting comments and some anecdotes of past, but in season 3, you will see her dull and lacking confidence because she’s facing inquiries at work.  In this season, Carolyn was seen out of her character. She was bold, quirky but in season 3, she has been shown quite a dull tone.

Meanwhile, Carolyn’s socially awkward son is seen working for an investigative news website, ‘Bitter Pill.’ He is seen secretly keeping an eye on a shady organization that hires assassins for their own means. Also, he is seen juggling with doing a part-time job of checking up on Eve’s duties.

The only person in the show seen chilling is the Villanelle. As mentioned earlier, Villanelle is a treat to watch. The new showrunner Suzane Heathcote intended to make us miss the flamboyant assassin, and she succeeded too. Like season 2 was compared to season 1 and suffered, this season also suffers from the same. Season 1 was quite excellent as it had given space to the characters to shine, unlike the other two seasons.

So season 3 has some brutal twists and turns, but the show is missing fun elements. Yes, season 3 has some bold parts and entrances but lacks fun. This season doesn’t sparkle as it used to, and that’s why it is quite disappointing for us. So this was about the review of Killing Eve season 3. You can binge-watch this series on Amazon prime video.
