PM Narendra Modi yesterday addressed the country regarding Unlock 2.0. In his speech, he stressed upon the countrymen to remain alert and to follow the norms just as before. He asked us to be more careful because this is the season of cold, cough, and fever. And we need to remain more careful because since unlock 1.0 there has been an increase in Covid-19 cases. People have now started taking COVID very lightly, while everyday cases are rising in the country. And now we have a total record of 5 lakh cases overall in the nation. It is high time to remain more alert and careful. The deadly virus has still not stopped spreading in the country. And amid the pandemic, we also need to improve our economy.
PM also made a big announcement that Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana will continue to provide free ration to 80 crore people till November. He also thanked farmers and honest taxpayers of the country due to which the government is able to provide free food to the poor.
Gujarat Government chief minister announced the state’s guidelines regarding the unlock 2.0 phase. The unlock 2.0 phase will have relaxations in the timings of working hours of shops and restaurants to enhance economic activities in the country. Now shops can remain open till 8 pm and restaurants till 9 pm. As far as night curfew is concerned, the night curfew will start from 10 pm instead of 9 pm and will continue till 5 am as it is. These changes will come into effect from 1st July 2020.
The state government has extended the restrictions on gyms, educational activities, cinema halls, coaching institutes, entertainment parks, swimming pools, auditoriums, theatres by shutting them till July 31st. The buses will continue to operate at 50% capacity at Ahmedabad and Surat while GSRTC is allowed to operate at 60% capacity. The libraries now can function at 60% capacity. And big cars and SUVs are allowed to carry drivers plus 3 people.
So this was all about unlocked 2.0, though the government has announced relaxations still, we need to remain careful. The virus is still spreading so please try going outside only if it is essential.
