The book depicts the social class disparities in contemporary India.  It is written from the Balram Halvai perspective who is a young man who shifts from village to the capital city Delhi. He has some humorous and refreshing takes about life. The book keeps you glued all the time. The book’s Netflix adaptation is on the way, starring Priyanka Chopra and Rajkumar Rao as protagonists. This novel was loved and appreciated by audiences and critics as well. It also won the 40th Man Booker Prize. 

Last Couple Standing

This book is written by Matthew Norman. This book is a story of 4 couples who were friends since college. The four of them got married and had kids at the same time. But, after having kids, divorces started. Jessica and Mitch were the only couples left from the divorce. So, in order to save their marriage, they started with an experiment that involved seeing other people. This book is a hilarious book, and one should definitely explore it once. 

Pride and Prejudice

Pride and Prejudice is a  novel written by Jane Austen. This book is one of the popular novels in English Literature. It has also appeared consistently in the list of “Most loved Books” among literary scholars. In this book, Jane Austen has beautifully captured the essence of human nature. The book follows the character development of the protagonist Elizabeth who understands the fine difference between superficial goodness and actual goodness. She also goes through ups and downs in life, learns about the caste and class in society. And also teaches us how to laugh at our bad times when life treats us unfairly. 

The Namesake

This book is written by author Jhumpa Lahiri. The book is a story of an Indian couple moving from Kolkata and settling in the US. The book depicts the struggle of the couple balancing the conflicting cultures of their home country and the foreign land. The couple also accepts the hard-hitting reality that their children will never be as Indian as them. The novel is a hearty read and you can even watch the film starring Irfan Khan and Tabu in the lead roles. This book will leave you in emotions and it is worth reading.
